WHAT WOULD WE THINK ABOUT WITHOUT TECHNOLOGY?

  1. This is a powerful image because it mirrors the reality of today. When I come home the first thing I attend to is my computer. We revolve around computers and technology that its become our way of life. What ever happened to going outside and playing sports or enjoying a walk in the park. Everyone is so glued to their phones, people are missing the little things in life that counts. As an art educator we need to teach our students to think critically because there will come a point when technology will not be available to solve a situation.

  2. This image is very interestingly sad. Like Phillip says, "what happened to going outside and playing sports..." Technology has taken over in so many areas, such as taking nature away from us. I think as a teacher it is important to balance out in teaching while using technology.

  3. This image is very interesting and says a lot about the way kids and adults think at this time. Personally I feel that it is sort of the devil, but in reality if we didn't have technology we would probably think about other things that were bad for us. I do feel that technology fills our voids of never wanting to be bored or alone, and that is a major problem. When someone is truly bored they will most likely come up with a great idea or it will be their demise. Some say idle hands are the devils playground but in my eyes it is what you do during that idle time to make the idle time worth it. It is very important for people like us to instill great values into children and I honestly think it will be okay. Unfortunately I do not have that much faith in parents because you also seen them using technology and sort of pushing their children away.

  4. Great photo. The purpose of the assignment was to think about a piece of technology that has influenced the classroom, but for me the assignment was so broad because how has it not affected the classroom? Well, this photo puts the way I feel into an image. Technology has completely altered what we think about, and in many ways has shaped the way we think in general. Very thought provoking image.

  5. I love your painting! That's a great question. I believe we would be forced to search within ourselves more. We wouldn't be able to rely on the internet for inspiration, but have to look deeply around us.
